Good evening Kathy, it sounds that it is really very cold were you are. Here in the UK it is not that cold, but we had some very cold nights as well the last couple of weeks. So I am sending you some warm blankets to make you warm. And also hope, that your PC issue can be finally solved and you can relax.
Thanks for the computer angels - did you happen to send ones that k now how to remove hard drives so that we can connect a silly confusing adaptor to get the data off the computer going in to be repaired?????? I am so mad I could just scream.....got my laptop apart and got to what I think was the hard drive but no way was I taking apart my desk top.......
Good news - HP is fixing the laptop for free as it has become a known problem in my model but my son has his movies on there - ones that he made and can't be re-made so it is rather important to him....Best Buy will do it for $99 so I guess the kid needs to start saving huh???? COld day in hell before that happens.
Oh my that doesn't sound very funny. But we just had a very similar thing here: My hubbies computer is playing up big time. So we want to bring his PC to PC world for repair (we have a insurance for that on the PC), but we know, that there is always the risk of loosing files. So we bought an external harddrive with USB. You just plug it in, and you decide which folders, files, pictures, movies etc. you want to transfer ( it is easy with copy and paste). And then all the folder are on the seperate harddrive. And you can easily transfer then all the folders and files back to the computer again, when it is fixed.
I keep on sending the computer angels and ask them for giving you a quick and easy solution.
Please don't give up on it yet. At least HP is doing it for free.

I'm still new at this - so I don't know where else to post - I signed up but don't get online as much right now. New computer screen crashed so I am using last years model---slower than molasses......and I am too impatient for things to load.
