Life lesson
Posted On 11/09/2008 11:48:26

I have been working on my guide to life blog for a long time and finally this last week had accumulated enough computer knowledge to turn it into a magazine style blog and I was so proud of my accomplishments. Then yesterday in a matter of seconds because of lack of sleep a push of a button wiped all my posts away I knew I would have to cut and paste them back which wasn't the issue but because the categories ID's would change it meant losing a whole heap of links a whole 2 years work.

But the lesson is one of attachment letting go of things acceptance I must admit until yesterday I hadn't realized old habits had crept back into my life. My reaction also caused me to ponder how much I had invested in my little corner of cyber world how much I may have missed being so preoccupied with doing and not so much the being. As always the Angel whispers get a little stronger when you keep ignoring them.

Get off your new age pedestal
Posted On 10/25/2008 22:37:28

The other day someone said to me "there will come a time when us ‘special’ people the light workers of the world will be called on to show others the way." I sat and stared completely caught off guard as far as I could tell I didn't possess any magical powers the rest of the human race had missed out on. Okay so I am a Psychic but this gift is no different than the gift to create a painter has, no different to the gift of healing a Doctor has, no different to the gift of love a Mother has for her child or the gift of reaching a young person a teacher has. No I was pretty sure I wasn't special different maybe but in no way more unique than the next person walking down the street.

It was such a profound moment and I realized it was time to step off my new age pedestal and back into my humility and humanity. All these light workers waiting for their moment to shine and what they cannot see is the little acts of random kindness building one on top of the other the man who gets up to give his seat to the old lady, the teenager who throws the homeless man a dime, the school children recycling, the people serving food at the shelters the list goes on.

Us light workers as we are labeled are not here to shine the light or lead the way for those unenlightened ones quite the opposite. We are here support encourage and fuel the passion of those around us. We are not the ones who will lead the way we are the ones who will give our strength our tools our unconditional love to those who will bring the vision of a new world to life.

I have never been more convinced that our job (not as light workers but as human beings having a very human experience) is to keep the fire burning in the hearts of those whose passion for the world ignites nations and mobilizes communities to action. I am not going to sit on top of my new age pedestal waiting for the light to shine on me I am going to give all I can of myself to ensure everyone has a chance to shine and show the world the divine light of creation that resides not in one but in all.

The ripple of human kindness is a never ending wave of intent which starts from a single unconditional act whether it be deciding to recycle or shoveling the snow off the footpath for the old lady next door. Do not live under the mistaken belief you cannot make a difference in a big way by a small act of kindness or by making a different choice than the one you made yesterday.

Look back in history and you will see the great spiritual leaders were not those who said I will lead you into the next world but those who said to the people 'you have the power to create the world you want.' Gandhi did not say I will be the change he said you be the change you want to see, Nelson Mandela in a very famous speech said the reason you let your light shine is because when you do you give others permission to let their light shine. I do not recall the Dali Lama ever saying he was 'special' or Mother Teresa or Martin Luther King.

If you must place a light worker label on yourself do so with the intent not of waiting for the world to recognize how special you are but with the desire to show others how special they are. Get off your new age pedestal step into the real world and join hands and hearts with the person next to you together and only together can we walk towards a brighter future.

Excuse me your humanity is showing
Posted On 08/28/2008 13:51:52

I could stand on my pedastal and state I never have thoughts of envy, greed or jealousy but I would be lying. So sue me if my humanity is showing! I am comfortable with who I am my words and actions align with my intent of compassion and loving kindness most of the time occasionally my inner child jumps up to be noticed but to the most part I do okay. I do not find it necessary to beat myself up when I get the odd twinge of envy or jealousy do not think I am any less of a spiritual person.

And this is where I think I part company with a lot of New Age thought. I believe to be an authentic person you have to acknowledge and accept when your humanity is showing. Do I get envious on the odd occasion but the difference is I acknowledge the thought bring in back into alignment with who I am and let it go. I don’t stand in the light of self deception just to prove I am more ‘enlightened’ than most. In fact I would dare to add those who step away from what makes them human are more in the dark than the light.

Religious doctrine is littered with thou shalt feel guilty for being anything less than perfect. Don’t have a thought outside of what is considered pure and if you do don’t share it outside of the confession box. The spiritual movement has it’s own version except it goes along the lines of only those above their humanity will rise to the higher dimensions of enlightenment.

We burp we fart we blurt out things we wish we could take back we walk through life with our humanity showing in ignorant bliss and that’s okay truly it is. Perfection is highly over rated. You can not live a life where every step is calculated before it is made it simply is not possible. You can not stop being human Mother Teresa is a perfect example of someone caught in the trap of not being able to reveal their humanity. No one knew of her internal struggles until after her death. God forbid she should turn out to be a mere mortal like the rest of us. In fact finding this out about her only makes me love and respect her more.

Strangely enough I bet if you let your humanity slip show a little the people around you will exhale and thank God you are human after all. So just remember everyone you meet is a reflection of some part of you. If you are a little bit jealous or envious chances are you want to have the courage or strength or skills to do what that person has done. When you can acknowledge this you will have valuable insight to help you grow and build your own dreams. Thank those people who bring out your humanity they are the greatest teachers you will ever have

Empathy Consciousness
Posted On 08/27/2008 13:22:20

I am a Gemini so like to make up words unfortunately my partner won't let me use them in scrabble although she informs me 'HER' two letter words are legit but that's another story.

In a world where teenagers are shooting guns at random and primary school children are beating up their classmates it has become clear there is no 'empathy consciousness'. This is totally different from morals such thing usually being dictated by the doctrine of a religious organization. Empathy consciousness reaches beyond the need to do the right thing and connects you to the soul voice of the person you have touched by your words and actions.

We are a generation plugged in and tuned out no wonder we can't hear this voice we have enough trouble hearing our own. Our children are being taught they have to be more have more do more they are on a path ego driven. The basic sense of 'I am' the being one with everything has been lost. What a different world if I could be you but for a moment if I could feel what you feel know what it was like to be you. The need to fulfill is taking over the need to be fulfilled without this connection to life to something bigger than me it is difficult to have empathy consciousness.

Anyway enough of my soapbox but something to ponder

Just in case you have forgotten
Posted On 08/24/2008 16:06:20

Just in case you have forgotten

May the Angel of Happiness

Remind you how to lift any burden with laugher

May the Angel of Friendship

Remind you how little a smile costs

Yet how great its effect may be

May the Angels of Passion and Courage

Remind you how to walk the path of your dreams

And May the Angel of Love

Remind you to embrace

Yourself and others

As beautiful divine creations

Worthy of abundance in all its forms
